MMG Days 2011 - The shipbuilding industry meets in the north-east of Germany.
The MMG Days are the outstanding event for the shipbuilding industry around the world. Shipbuilding experts, shipowners, entrepreneurs, representatives of research institutes and universities come together at the event in Waren an der Müritz , Mecklenburg-Vorpommern organized by Mecklenburger Metallguss GmbH.
A Future Forum with top speakers addresses new challenges and opportunities in shipbuilding. Triple-E and Eco-Steaming are already the hallmarks of the industry today. Sustainability and environmental awareness will increase in relevance in the future. The perfect interaction of hull, engine and efficient and gently running propellers is in the focus of discussions about the shipbuilding of the future.
During the MMG Days the new, impressive production hall of Mecklenburger Metallguss GmbH will be inaugurated. A show program and the live manufacturing of the propellers will be the highlights of the event.

Federal President Christian Wulff visited MMG
On 09/12/2010 the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Christian Wulff visited MMG in the company of the Prime Minister of MV Erwin Sellering and other delegates from the state government and the Müritzregion.
At the beginning of the visit was a meeting at which attended the two managing directors Manfred Urban and Jürgen Eberlein, the council chairman Willi Seedorf and the student Nico Denis Strauch. It was about the development of the company, the current situation and the framework for medium-sized enterprises.
This was followed by a tour of the propeller manufacturing that allowed Mr. Wulff and Mr. Sellering to get an impression of the performance and formidable products. During the tour, many representatives of the press, radio and television had the opportunity to make photos and to direct their questions to the guests. Mr. Wulff also used the tour for talks with the staff of the morning shift.
At the end of the tour was the casting of a fixed propeller could be observed, an exciting and very important step in the manufacture of a propeller.
Deeply impressed by the technology and the experience of the staff of the world market leader the guests were disbanded by the management of MMG.

Federal President Christian Wulff, Minister President of MV Erwin Sellering visit MMG
At the end of fiscal year 2010, there is an important highlight in the history of the company for the world leader of manufacturing propellers.
On 9 December, the Federal President Christian Wulff, accompanied by the Minister President of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Erwin Sellering will visit MMG in Waren during his first visit in MV. The management of MMG and the 220 employees of the the company see this visit as appreciation of their performance to make MMG in recent years to a world leader in the design and production of ship propellers and also to successfully defend this position during the global shipbuilding crisis.
MMG is leading in the design and manufacturing of ship propellers up to a size of 11.5 m in diameter and 150 tonnes finished weight. The propellers are supplied worldwide; the export share is over 90%.
In the last two years, MMG invested additional 22 million euros, With that, it is everything done to continue the international competition of the propeller manufacturer and to defend the leading position. This is important for long-term preservation of the site in Waren (Muritz) and the bounded direct jobs as well as the important economic factor in the Müritz region.

The aim of the ranking was to identify those companies that can prove over a period of four years of sustained growth in revenues and earnings. Companies, such as the Mecklenburg Metallguss GmbH belong in their segments to the market leaders and have thus also in economically weaker times sufficient power of resistance. The high growth and profitability of the Top 100 is the result of a superior business strategy, a high degree of internationalization and an above average innovation.
